Why mother-in-law buried my name in her mattress despite all prayers

I used to say a prayer each night. I would weep for my spouse while kneeling next to the bed. for harmony. for the well-being of my mother-in-law, for my spouse’s work. I believed I was acting appropriately. She had become ill and moved in with us. According to my spouse, she required attention. Without hesitation, I answered, Sure. I prepared meals for her. cleaned her clothing. Once, after the housegirl fled, I gave her a bath.

I thought she was simply old and worn out. But after that, odd things began to occur. My hair started to come out in large strands. There would be clumps on the pillow when I woke up. I visited a hospital. It was stress, they explained. At night, I began to hear footsteps. However, the compound was always deserted when I looked through the window.
