In Kitengela, Kajiado County, a senior police officer and his junior cop, who is allegedly romantically connected with the same woman, got into a fight, and one of them died.
The deceased, Police Constable Manasseh Ithiru of Kitengela Police Station, purportedly died after falling from the fourth story of Geoffrey Flats, an apartment complex situated along Deliverance Road, some three kilometres south of the police station.
On the tragic day, the cop reportedly paid a visit to his lover, Irene Wavinya Nzioka, 27, who lives in room 416 of the flat as mentioned earlier.
The two police officers got into a fight, and Sergeant Abubakar Said reportedly threw the younger officer off the apartment balcony after conquering him.
Both Sgt. Abubakar Said and the woman have since been taken into custody and are assisting the police with their investigations.
When officers from the Kitengela-based DCI and CSI Unit arrived on the scene, they discovered the constable’s corpse in a pool of blood in the parking lot. The officer had suffered several injuries, including serious head trauma.
In the course of additional enquiries, they inspected and recorded the scene.
Later, while awaiting postmortem investigation to be conducted, the body was transferred to the Shalom Hospital Mortuary.
