How Filling Divorce Turned Into Hot Love Again

My hands were shaking when I went to the lawyer’s office to file for divorce. I asked myself over and over, “How did we arrive here?” Even though we had kids and a house together, I felt more alone in my marriage than when I was single.

My husband was a good person. At least on the surface, he took care of us. But I was sinking in our marriage. He had been slowly pulling away from me for years. Work was his top priority, followed by his friends, leaving me last on the list to manage all the parenting and housework responsibilities alone.

He got too worn out to talk when he got home late at first. That’s when he had time to “catch up”, either at work or with his friends. Our marriage slowly stopped making us laugh.
