President William Ruto has encouraged young people to tie the knot and begin their own families from the age of 25 years. During the wedding celebration of Qillian Ndeso Saiya and Moses Budamba Mudavadi, Ruto shared his thoughts on how a family serves as the foundation for our nation.
Budamba is the child of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. So, the wedding happened at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata, Nairobi, on Saturday.
The strength of a nation really comes from the solid base of a family. “A nation is only as strong as the families we build, so as parents, we really need to do everything we can to support our kids. Just like I’m doing here, I want to encourage all the men in this room, especially those over 25, to consider getting married,” Ruto said, prompting laughter from the audience.

“Hey, stop bouncing around from this club to that one, and then to another,” he added. Ruto seized the chance to congratulate the newlyweds, calling it a proud moment not just for them but also for their parents, Tessie and Mudavadi.
“I’m really proud of this moment.” “I completely understand how Tessie and Musalia feel. As parents, we all want the best for our kids. We pray for them, take them to school, and hope that one day they’ll have families of their own, just like we do,” Ruto shared.

He also encouraged the young men to embrace marriage and step up to their responsibilities in their families.
“If you’re a man, step up and marry the woman you love. There are so many people who shy away from responsibility, claiming they enjoy being single. But really, it’s about having the courage to take your woman home and say, ‘Will you be my wife?'” he said.
“Hey everyone, I just want to say, if you really love someone, don’t hesitate to take that step and marry her. Build a family together and embrace that responsibility.”
