Popular televangelist Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New Life Prayer Centre and Church has once again called on Christians across Kenya to embrace the biblical principle of giving with complete faith, insisting that believers should be ready to surrender even the last shilling they have if they truly trust God for provision.
Speaking during a packed Sunday service at his sprawling church grounds in Mavueni, Kilifi County, Pastor Ezekiel told thousands of worshippers that sacrificial giving remains the fastest way to unlock heavenly blessings.
“Give to the Lord, even the last shilling you have, and you will get more if you believe. When you give, God will open doors that no man can shut,” he declared amid loud cheers and ululations from the congregation.
The man of God illustrated his message with testimonies from church members who claimed they gave their final savings as seed offerings and received unexpected financial breakthroughs within days.
One woman from nearby Kaloleni tearfully narrated how she emptied her M-Pesa account of Ksh1,200 during a midweek service and received Ksh150,000 from an overseas relative she had not spoken to in years just three days later.
Pastor Ezekiel further explained that many believers remain stuck in poverty because they give only when they have a surplus instead of giving in faith when the need is greatest.
“The widow’s mite in the Bible was powerful because she gave all she had. That kind of giving moves the hand of God,” he stressed while pacing across the large altar decorated with Christmas lights.
Church ushers moved through the crowd with several offering baskets as the preacher repeatedly urged the congregation to “sow a seed that will shake heaven.” Many faithful were seen dropping envelopes, mobile money transfers, and even title deeds into the baskets as proof of their radical faith.
The message comes barely a month after Pastor Ezekiel launched the annual “December to Remember” miracle crusade that usually attracts hundreds of thousands of people seeking healing, deliverance, and financial miracles before the year ends. Already, booking for the 10-day event scheduled to start on December 26 has overwhelmed the church’s online registration portal.
Local leaders in Kilifi have welcomed the pastor’s emphasis on faith-based giving, saying it continues to inspire hope among residents facing economic hardship.
The area MCA noted that members of New Life Church are among the most generous when community harambees are called for school fees and medical bills.
As the service came to a close with powerful praise and worship, Pastor Ezekiel pronounced blessings over every person who gave sacrificially, declaring 2026 as their year of overflow and supernatural multiplication.
Hundreds rushed forward for prayers, believing that the same God who opened doors for others would do the same for them after obeying the message to give even the last shilling in faith.
