NCT DREAM members Jeno and Jaemin star in the upcoming short-form drama Wind Up. The series follows a high school baseball pitcher facing a slump and a transfer student who steps in as his manager. Their friendship helps the pitcher find his way back to the game.
Jeno plays Woo Jin, the struggling pitcher who once showed big promise but now can’t throw strikes. Jaemin takes the role of Tae Hee, the new student who appoints himself as manager and supports Woo Jin through tough times. Fans call it a classic bromance story set on the baseball field.
The drama wrapped filming in October 2025. A first poster came out on January 2, 2026, showing the two in baseball uniforms. The tagline reads something like “The dream that was wavering has found its place.” It gives a feel of hope and growth.
Wind Up premieres on January 16, 2026, at 6 p.m. KST. It launches on KITZ, a new global platform from Take One Company focused on short K-pop-related content. The service starts that day at 10 a.m. KST and supports 11 languages for international viewers.
Director Kim Sung-ho handles the project. He worked on Netflix’s Move to Heaven and the KBS drama Bad Prosecutor. Production involves Take One Studio and SM Entertainment. Veteran actors join too, like Lee Jong Hyuk as the coach and Oh Hyun Kyung as Tae Hee’s mother.
This marks Jeno’s acting debut. Jaemin previously acted in a 2019 short drama titled Method to Hate You. NCT fans, known as NCTzens, are excited to see their real-life chemistry on screen. The two have been close since trainee days.
News first broke in September 2025. Reports said it might have fantasy elements, but details point to a straightforward coming-of-age sports tale. Some fans speculated about deeper themes early on, but the focus stays on friendship and baseball.
Short-form dramas are quick to watch, often in episodes under 20 minutes. KITZ plans more idol-led series, making Wind Up the flagship launch title.
NCT DREAM stays busy with music and tours. This acting gig adds another layer for Jeno and Jaemin. Their group includes Mark, Renjun, Haechan, Chenle, and Jisung.
The poster shows them looking determined on the field. It builds hype for the release.
Fans share reactions online. Many say the duo fits perfectly for these roles. Others look forward to global access via KITZ. As premiere day nears, teasers might drop soon. For now, the poster keeps talk going.
Wind Up could appeal beyond K-pop fans with its sports and youth story. Baseball themes are popular in Korean dramas. We’ll see how it lands when it drops mid-January.
