Kirinyaga Woman Escapes Husband’s Knife Attack in Domestic Horror

Freshia Wangui from Kirinyaga County shared her terrifying story of domestic violence recently. She married John Murage in 2024, hoping for a happy life together. Things went wrong fast. Her husband came home drunk almost every night. He beat her badly, even when there was no food for the kids. Freshia said she tried hard to keep the marriage going. Nothing worked. He got more violent over time.

Her parents stepped in. They talked to him and asked him to change. He ignored them completely. Then one night everything almost ended. Freshia recalls he arrived drunk as usual. He had hidden a knife under the bed earlier. After she finished cooking, he called her over, pretending he needed help with his belt. “Babe, come help me remove this belt,” he said.

She went closer. He grabbed her suddenly. He told her to call the children so he could say goodbye to them. Freshia realised he planned to kill her. She fought back hard. She bit his hand. He let go for a second. That gave her the chance to run away from him and escape the house. This incident highlights the ongoing problem of domestic violence in many Kenyan homes, including in Kirinyaga. Read more https://drbokko.com/?p=37332
