Nairobi County Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has spoken out against the sharing of an adult video featuring Mama Mboga, calling it a disgraceful breach of privacy and dignity.
In a video posted on X on Saturday, October 25, 2025, Mosiria urged the police to act quickly and hold accountable those behind the leak of the explicit clip.
He shared his feelings of sadness about the situation, mentioning that it shows a troubling trend of moral decline and careless behaviour in our digital world.
“That’s really unfortunate!” Sometimes, I totally get where our ladies are coming from. Come on, let’s not put our women through this. Why would you share those videos that she trusted you with in confidence?
Mosiria expressed concern that some people have decided to take advantage of women’s trust for their own entertainment or harmful purposes, not really thinking about the lasting psychological damage that can come from such actions.
He mentioned that actions like these feel like a betrayal, and he emphasised that no woman should ever have her dignity taken away like this.
“A lot of our ladies are going through tough times, facing blackmail and being tricked by people they once trusted with their private videos or photos,” Mosiria shared.
The Nairobi County official brushed off any claims that the video might be generated by artificial intelligence, pointing out that these excuses are just a way to distract from the real problem, which is the intentional invasion of a woman’s privacy.
He really stressed that law enforcement needs to dig deep into this and make sure the people responsible are held accountable.
“Shida, huwezi kusema hiyo video ni AI!” I’m reaching out to the police to look into this and take some action. Hey everyone, can we please take a moment to think before sharing those videos? It’s all out of love, but trust me, one day they might come back to bite you.
He encouraged everyone, regardless of gender, to be careful and responsible when interacting online, cautioning against sharing personal content just because of love or trust.
He mentioned that a lot of folks have ended up feeling humiliated when those videos pop up online again, even years after they were first recorded.
“Going through that kind of exposure can really push someone towards feelings of depression, self-harm, or even thoughts of suicide.” I really feel for this woman. Even if her actions weren’t right, she definitely didn’t deserve this kind of humiliation. “What happens or is shared in private should stay private,” he wrote.
The county official talked about the emotional toll that this kind of exposure can take, mentioning that the woman in the viral video is a mother and her kids will eventually see that footage.
He mentioned that going through those experiences can really lead to serious issues like depression, self-harm, or even thoughts of suicide.
“Just think about it, this woman has kids who are going to watch these videos someday.” “Let’s look out for each other and be responsible in this digital age,” he said.
