The close and cordial working relationship between Governor Charity
Kaluki Ngilu and her deputy Dr Gideon Wathe Nzau started bearing fruits since their election on August 8, 2017.
The duo has relentlessly been implementing its five-pillar manifesto to kick out food insecurity, water scarcity, diseases, illiteracy, unemployment, and poverty out of the county for the benefit of the people.
Their visionary focused and transformative leadership has seen the county government rehabilitate and construct/drill dams and boreholes, support farmers (Artificial Insemination, subsidized ploughing, Meander Farming, etc.).
They also establish an affordable health insurance cover, grade 50 Kilometre roads in each Ward, train youth on skills development and disburse bursaries to needy students, set up a textile factory that is being accoladed at local, national and international level, install a stone crusher for ballast, conserve the environment and increased partnership with development partners among others.
