Charlene Ruto under fire over the constitutional existence of the " Office of the First Daughter"

Charlene Ruto, the daughter of President William Ruto, is once again at the centre of an internet uproar after unveiling the people on her squad at the "Office of the First Daughter."

Charlene called for her team to show them to the crowd as she spoke Tuesday at the East African Community headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania, to people at the 2022 YouLead Summit.

To applause and laughter from the crowd, Ms. Ruto introduces Jermaine Momanyi, who works as the first daughter's office's head of trade and investments.

Kenya's constitution does not include an Office of the First Daughter, so Kenyans online have had a lot to say about Charlene's comments.

Since her father took office in September, Charlene has been travelling the nation, meeting with different county officials, and even travelling abroad to meet with international dignitaries.

When questioned about her activities in a recent interview, she made a passing reference to her work as a "climate change activist" and a voice for young people.

"I believe that our president, first lady, CS's, county governors, and others are doing a lot both domestically and internationally, but who is speaking out for the youth?" In the chat with YouTuber Mungai Eve, Charlene asked a question.

"We already have a place at the table since our president loves the young so much, but who will advocate for them? That is why I made the decision to take on that role. I will speak out for the kids and defend the neighbourhoods. "
