Ababu Namwamba in Embu

Ababu Namwamba, the cabinet secretary for youth affairs, the arts, and sports has praised the Kenya Kwanza administration for renovating Moi Stadium in Embu County quickly and according to schedule.

On May 31, 2023, Namwamba gave a media interview and said that the stadium hosting the Madaraka Day events this year had undergone a Ksh476 million renovation.

He said that the undertaking required at least 15 weeks and that it is currently the first athletic facility finished under Ruto's administration.

"We reconstructed Moi Stadium Embu in only 15 weeks, and I acquired it from the contractor in time to hold the Madaraka Day festivities in 2023 today.

"The benchmark to judge the quality of our leadership is the speed, efficiency, and value for the investment of this Ksh476 million project," Ababu tweeted.

The renovated stadium, according to Ababu, contains five separate VIP lounges, including a presidential-level and vice-presidential area.

The meeting rooms are also equipped with cutting-edge amenities that are up to par with worldwide standards for hosting official and sporting events.

The CS claims that the stadium now has more spacious parking lots and is equipped with a stadium illumination system.

According to the Sports Commission, Moi Stadium has put Kenya in a good position to host international competitions in sports, including football and athletics.
