UDA officials in Nairobi are crying loudly after the leadership failed to rename them after being involved in the grassroots elections.

Officers have been experiencing hardship due to prolonged periods without receiving payment. Now, the officials ask the leadership and President William Ruto to help get their money back.

A returning officer involved in the UDA grassroots elections in Nairobi County has come forward to express concerns regarding the non-payment of remuneration promised to a section of election officials.

“They promised to remunerate us and the polling clerks, but up to now no one has bothered to update us on when we’ll receive our dues. Alafu, they’re all over posting election winners with certificates, yet we, who helped in the process, are yawning all day.”

“They promised us wages at the end of the exercise. However, no one is responding to our calls. We did our best, giving them transparent exercise until certificate awards, and now everybody is busy with their schedules,” an official who wanted to remain anonymous said.
