Gacigoni village in Kirinyaga wakes up today morning with the murder of a four-year-old daughter.

A four-year-old girl at Gacigoni village in Kirinyaga County was Monday morning found brutally murdered just a day after she was reported missing.

“The girl was reportedly sent by her grandmother to buy a packet of flour on Sunday evening at around 6 pm but did not return home, ” a neighbor said.

“When darkness fell and she had not returned, I called my neighbors and we began to search for her. We searched for her the whole night but in vain,” the grandmother painfully recounted.

“In the morning it’s when we heard people screaming and saying that her body had been found.”

The little was found dead and raped in a nearby thicket. Police launched an investigation over the murder. The body was taken to Kerugoya mortuary.
