“CENTRAL HOME TOUR” President Uhuru pledeges Billions to Coffee farmers in Kirinyaga County.

President Uhuru Kenyatta went to Nyeri yesterday for what the critics say it’s a “Central Home Tour”. The tour which continued today  reached Kirinyaga County and he staged at Kerugoya, Kutus, and Mwea. The president pledged the coffee farmers to stay calm as billions of shillings will be given to them to boost coffee production.

The president also launched upgrade works of the Kutus-Kianyaga-Kiamutugu-Githure-Kibugu road. This road will act as a link to the main market at Mwea and Kerugoya. Farmers in those areas have been pushing Government over rotten produce due to lack of proper transport infrastructure.

President Uhuru Kenyatta with his deputy president William Ruto Commissioned new medical equipment at Kerugoya County Referral Hospital. This is the only level five hospital in Kirinyaga county. The Jubilee government pledged to inject shillings 400 million into the hospital to improve healthcare in the region.

At KerugoyaToday the government has given an additional shillings 2.4 billion to write off coffee debts. Later this year they will also get 1.5 billion to boost the coffee farmers.The president said, ” Let farmers take back their title deeds that were tied to these loans. I urge those farmers whose debts have been written off to use any credit they get to develop their farms and not spend it on frivolous pursuits.”

The Presidential Motorcade started at Nyeri County Hospital where he  Inspected specialized medical equipment  installed by the Jubilee Government under the Managed Equipment Services (MES). The equipment which was installed in August this year has enabled the hospital to provide theater, renal, imaging, radiology and other diagnostic services.  The president will visit Mwea and Embu later today to commission more projects in the Central Home Tour.[no-sidebar]
