Workers cry about bad ethics and inhuman employees. Employees from Chinese-owned companies have been facing slavery and bullying while executing their work. Recently, the government was forced to deport some Chinese for canning employees.

Now, a Chinese wood processing company located in Londiani, Kericho, has been accused of inhumane treatment of its employees.

Nicholas Opiyo, a Chinese translator who worked for the company, recently died of fungal pneumonia after contracting the disease due to poor living conditions.

The deceased’s wife and family claim that Nicholas used to sleep in the company car daily, and the employer never provided proper accommodation or sick leave.

The Chinese employer continued to text Nicholas with insults, accusing him of absconding from work even during his last days before death.

Upon learning of his passing, the company has reportedly refused to take responsibility for the matter. Nicholas left behind a wife, Jennifer, and two sons: a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old.

The family now wants the relevant authorities to take action before another employee faces the same fate.
