IEBC starts BBI signature verification activity in Nairobi. The electoral commission chairman Wafula Chebukati says the exercise will last for six months.
IEBC came under fire on Wednesday morning after posting on social media that Building Bridges Initiative exercise prompted to revoke the unity and peace in the country.
They termed it as “Burning Bridges Initiative.”
” The 400 clerks who were recruited for the exercise have taken their oath of secrecy and will begin their training shortly, ” stated in the social media.
” The coincidence, the accuracy… Everything in this tweet is just as it should be. Coz, burning bridges it is, ” KOT started the mockery.
” @IEBCKenya ata mkidelete tumeona. But it’s the truth. It’s BURNING Bridges Initiative, ” it continued.
However, they deleted the social media post after several retweets and likes. Later they posted another tweet.

Earlier today, the Commission posted a tweet on the launch of the Verification of BBI supporters. However, there was a typographical error in the tweet which was made inadvertently. The error does NOT any in way reflect the position of the Commission or its staff.
