Another IEBC employee was fired after he was found not co-operating in the tendering process. The IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said the senior manager was fired following delays and inconsistency in attending a high-level meeting.
Procurement Director Mr. Lawy Aura was allegedly frustrating the tendering process which was handled with a lot of problems. The commission said that the process will be free and fair because they were determined to have a credible process with liable printing partners.
“He was to print ballot papers through tendering as we are remaining with only two months remaining. The commissioners agreed to sack the director after he flouted the Procurement rules.” Says IEBC commissioner Dr Roselyne Kwamboka.
The IEBC went Court over the president vote tallying, the court today heard the petition filed by IEBC which was led by the Attorney General Prof Githu Muigai and Paul Nyamodi(IEBC lawyer). The NASA team also went to the court to block the IEBC over the same case. The NASA team led by the Siaya Senator James Orengo said that the votes tallied were to be officially announced at the polling center.
