Kabete MP Githua Wamacukuru beats Ward Administrator over bursary row

Kabete MP Githua Wamacukuru is accused of staging an assault on Muguga Ward Administrator Jimmy Kinyati.

The incident reportedly happened during a public event last week where the MP was issuing bursaries.

According to witnesses, Jimmy Kinyati attended the event like any other member of the public, but upon his arrival at the dais, Wamacukuru allegedly ordered his constituency manager, Alice Ng’ang’a, along with a cameraman from Thika MP and another goon, to forcibly remove Kinyati from the premises.

In the ensuing chaos, he reportedly suffered severe beatings.

Kinyati is a strong advocate for accountability and integrity when using the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).

He has consistently raised concerns about work ethics, the general disempowerment of the public, and the MP’s overstepping of his mandate.

Kinyati also exposed perennial audit failures and conflicts of interest within the constituency’s management.

The political landscape in Kiambu County is fraught with tensions aggravated by the rivalry between the Kabete MP, Thika Town MP, and Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi.

The Ward Administrator, representing the county government, and the MP, representing the national government, have been at odds.

Many are now calling for an investigation into the MP’s actions, with demands for transparency and accountability, particularly concerning the alleged misuse of NG-CDF funds.
