Jubilee party has divided in the Kibra Nominations. The Deputy president allies want footballer Macdonald Mariga to get nominations as Jubilee flag bearer.
Other Jubilee members want the other members to be spearheaded for the seat than solely and dependently on one aspirant.
According to Deputy President Ally and Gatundu south Mp Moses Kuria, Macdonald Mariga has a huge chance of winning the seat citing that he has the zeal to help people better than the rest.
“Deputy President and all my friends in Jubilee are throwing weights to Mariga for the Kibra seat. We are eager to see him coming to the national assembly next year,” he said.
The Independent, Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) issued a statement demanding to know the authenticity of the letter sent to them last month on the Jubilee nomination candidates.
“The Commission received a letter on August 26 at 5 pm, forwarding the names of aspirants of Jubilee Party for the Kibra by-election. However, it has come to the attention of the Commission that Jubilee Party has denied authoring the said letter and termed it as fake,” IEBC said in the statement.
“Consequently, the Commission has written to the party forwarding a copy of the letter for the party’s information and further action,” the announcement read.
