Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai summoned by ODM disciplinary team, has 10 days to defend himself

Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai

The Azimio One Coalition may take disciplinary action against Kileleshwa County Assembly Member Robert Alai for attending a meeting that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua organised.

In a letter dated February 22, Alai was told to explain why he attended a meeting led by the deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua, in Karen.

His speech at the meeting rattled the ODM elites, leading to the summons. “We expect ODM members to boycott any meetings led by their rival Kenya Kwanza coalition,” the office of the majority party whip stated in a message to Alai.

The party instructed Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai to explain his unethical reasons for attending the meeting and deliver a speech in front of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has, before May 16th, ten days to provide an explanation in a written letter, failing which he may face disciplinary action, including expulsion from the ODM party.

Netizens criticised ODM for its behaviour.

“This unacceptable behavior by Azimio needs to come to an end.The purpose of the meeting attended by @RobertAlai was to address the impact of floods, which is the responsibility Alai was elected for,” said Ibrahim Mohamed.

“If I were Alai, I would reply, asking them to first charge Baba before I could respond to their accusation.” Danvy described the party as useless and exhibited a double standard.
