The tragic accident which happened in Naivasha after a highly flammable carrying tanker exploded into flames after hitting a car. The death toll to 42 this afternoon as the data given by Red Cross. The exploded tanker affected 15 cars including Matatus. This is the deadly accident this year and happened a day to Jamhuri day celebrations.
The Trailer failed when it was negotiating a corner, the failing break trailer raided on a car and due to the hitting force , the tanker exploded. A 14 seater Matatu which had 15 passengers, all the people in that Matatu died on the spot. Six cars who were close to the accident also were affected. The fifteen cars which were directly involved in the explosion most of them died on the spot while others were taken to Nakuru Hospital.
President Kenyatta sends condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the tragic accident. He said the government will assist and foot bills on the ones in different hospitals. Another one who sent an immediate message of condolence is the Opposition leader Hon. Raila Odinga, he said, “Our country has woken up to the terrible news of tens of lives lost on the road in Naivasha last night in what is one of the most horrific accidents this year.This is a terrible time and a painful way to lose a family member or a friend, just when we are all looking forward to marking Christmas and celebrating the New Year.”
He also added and appreciating the Officers both who were on duty and the ones who joined them later and said,”Mama Ida and I pass our deepest condolences to the families that have lost loved ones in this accident and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded. I understand that a number of our security officers who were on the road on duty are among the casualties. It is a terrible loss to the country and to their families. We join their families and colleagues in prayers.”
Others who sent condolences include ANC leader Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, Hon. Martha Karua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, FORD-K Hon. Moses Wetangula and Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua. The Nurses and Doctors who were on strike in Naivasha and Nakuru were told to report back to work immediately due to the accident victims. May the Nakuru accident victims have a quick recovery and the dead to rest in Peace.
