Presidential results will be manually or electronically transmitted. The elections amendment bill 2022 will pave the way for stopping the results transmission during voting.
The move comes after signing a new bill that will restructure political parties.
President Uhuru Kenyatta signed the enacted Political Parties(Amendment) Bill, 2021, into law.
The Bill, 2021, was enacted in the Senate after the Handshake team destroyed deputy president William Ruto’s backers in both for the Bill.
The new bill will also allow media houses to tally the votes directly from polling stations countrywide.
After signing the political bill, president Uhuru Kenyatta will wait for the debated amendment before the August polls.
The new law revises the Political Parties Act of 2011 by submitting the concept of coalition political parties, summarizing tasks of political parties as well as altering the standards of accessing the Political Parties Fund.
