ODM Secretary for Political Affairs and Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi headed to the US as part of President Ruto’s delegation. His invitation did not come from the US government, as his press handlers are claiming.
Despite Wandayi’s team’s claims that the US government invited him, sources dispute this.
Felix Kosgey wrote to parliament to formally include him in the President’s delegation after he made the request.
Once he arrived in the United States, the minority leader began hiding and avoiding cameras because of the way ODM has treated other MPs who embraced Ruto.
After Kenyans smoked him out, he wrote a press statement explaining his presence in the US with Raila’s spokesperson, Dennis Onyango.
More sources claim Onyango, like blogger Gabriel Oguda, works for Raila but receives compensation from parliament as a member of Wandayi’s staff. He is a principal media officer.
Kenyan taxpayers are funding Wandayi’s all-expense-paid trip to the US, along with the other freeloaders in the Ruto delegation, which include comedians, governors, cabinet secretaries, and other regime staff members.
