The National Police Service has stated that police on surveillance in Kisauni have apprehended five members of the ‘Panga Boys’ gang.
“Police officers on patrol in Kisauni Sub-Mjambere County’s ward have apprehended five members of an orchestrated criminal organization known as the ‘Panga Boys.'” According to the Service, the five are Abdul Shakur Charo, Lukman Said Salim, Omar Rajab Omar, Masuud Mohammed Bwana, and Nahim Akinyi Ongut.
The deadly gang’s name “Panga Boys” comes from their favourite weapon, the Panga, according to the Service. According to reports, the five gang members were on a quest to perpetrate heinous acts in Kisauni’s Soko Mjinga Area.
The criminals were disarmed and their firearms were retrieved by the police. The five gang members are now being held in police custody and will be arraigned soon.
Residents of Mombasa who may have been defrauded by the group were urged to report to the Mjambere police station for more criminal prosecution, according to the Service.
