There are demonstration along Ngong road. The Ngong and Dagoretti residents are protesting against the contractor who was given the tender to repair the Mama Wahu road. The Ngong residents also criticize the government on issuing notice through the Principal Secretary (PS) Housing & Urban Development Mr Aidah Munano following the demolition of some estates in Ngong.
The Ministry of housing issued a notice that they are planning to upgrade housing structures in Nairobi. The Demonstration also condemned the increased insecurity in the area following this week robberies and carjacking along the road.
The protests happen after police arrested seventeen people in Thika town and Limuru operating illegal LPG refilling canters and 448 gas cylinders. It is known that the cylinders were stolen in Rongai along Ngong road.
The contractor who was given the tender to repair the Ngong road and the Mama Wahu road disappeared and left the roads in a bad condition. The residents are complaining about the county government in regards to the development of the infrastructure in the area.
Migori Protesting.
While the people of ngong demonstrating in Nairobi, Migori-Sirare road blocked in Isebania as the residents demonstrates against increased insecurity. According to the villagers, insecurity has been a bigger challenge in the area. The insecurity lobby comes after last night gunmen attacked the small town and left two people dead.
