International media reports that North Korea has shipped over 10,000 containers of new military aid to Russia.
Five million artillery shells make up this military assistance from North Korea, according to Global Eye News.
This support comes in response to a recent statement from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which Kim Jong Un referred to North Korea as Russia’s “invincible wartime comrade.”
On the occasion of “Russia National Day,” the North Korean leader delivered Mr. Putin this message, according to North Korean state media (KCNA).
It is noteworthy that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited Russia in September of last year and toured the nation’s satellite launch facility. During this visit, President Vladimir Putin of Russia assured Kim Jong Un that he would assist with the construction of satellites.
According to South Korea’s Defence Minister, North Korea used to get about 9,000 containers from Russia, primarily containing food supplies. This helped to regulate prices in North Korea.
Global geopolitical ties are already more tense as a result of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
Both countries have suffered huge military and civilian losses as a result of the prolonged conflict, which has resulted in horrific fatalities and wreckage.
The international community is still split, with some nations siding with Russia’s position while others use sanctions to help Ukraine.
Because both Russia and Ukraine are significant exporters of necessary goods, the war has had serious negative effects on the economy, including disruptions in the world’s energy supplies and worries about food security.
Since diplomatic attempts to end the conflict have not succeeded thus far, the region has continued to experience bloodshed and instability.
