Popular Police officer Corporal Mark Ayabei found dead, body placed on roadside

Crime scene investigation

On Friday, someone found a police officer from the Lang’ata Police Station sprawled in a pool of blood on the wrong side of the road in Nairobi.

According to a police record, two private security guards at Ngei Phase II along Kitengela Lane discovered an unresponsive male adult on the side of the road.

After conducting an investigation into the corpse, Corporal Mark Ayabei, who worked at the Lang’ata Police Station, was identified as dead by the two guards.

A subsequent inspection revealed that he had two stab wounds on his chest. Before the investigation began, they discovered his corpse lying in a pool of blood.

Officers from Lang’ata’s Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) unit rushed to the scene to review the evidence and try to determine what happened.

Umash Funeral Home received Ayabei’s remains and is currently awaiting the results of a postmortem examination.

Since then, the police have started conducting investigations to identify the suspect in the murder and ascertain the motivation behind the crime.

Over the past two years, the government has reported that there have been close to one hundred deaths among law enforcement agents.

Police data indicates that bandit assaults account for the majority of deaths. The other individuals are thieves and coworkers.
