President William Ruto has revoked Omar Boga’s appointment as the board chairman of the Coast Water Works Development Agency.
Ruto substituted him with Daniel Katama Mwaringa, who will now lead the agency’s board for a year, in a gazette notice dated Wednesday, February 1.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, appoint Daniel Katama Mwaringa as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Coast Water Works Development Agency, with effect from the 1st of February, 2023, through the 25th of February, 2024, in exercise of the powers granted by Section 7 (3) of the State Corporations Act, as read together with Section 66 (1) (a) and (b) of the Constitution of Kenya.
As of February 1, 2023, until July 4, 2025, Hafswa Abdalla Dele, Judith Wabosha Mwamburi, and Mohamed Masoud Mwahima will serve as members of the agency’s board.
In the notification, he also said that “the appointments of Omar Boga, Col. (Rtd.) Hussein Ahmed Farah, Rehana Ismail, Abdul Timimi, and Joseph Charo Kambi are canceled.”
