Reed dance ceremony for the virgins ladies for the king is set for the second final round in swaziland.

Reed celebrations are for the virgins in swaziland.

 The constant marrying King, who now has close to twenty wives. The king
of Swaziland marries every year from a ceremony that covers the whole
country virgins and beautiful ladies.  The ceremony is dubbed as “Reed”.
The Reed Dance ceremony is an annual Swazi and Zulu tradition held in
August or September. In Swaziland, tens of thousands of
virgins,unmarried and childless ladies gather to find their lack.

The
Zulu are an African ethnic group whose members live mainly in the South
African province of KwaZulu-Natal, which lies between the Indian Ocean
to the east of South Africa.  The ethnic ceremonies up-louse the
kingship leadership and they really admire being selected by the King or
prince.

Swaziland King to choose a lady from the reeds ceremony.

This years celebrations brought more ladies than last years celebrations. The King of Swaziland is expected to give out the list of ladies who have qualified for the second selection. The process takes place in the palace arena for about two weeks which involves selection of ladies for the King foot soldiers, Prince and Palace men then the King himself.

Each lady who comes to the reed ceremony has a gift hamper for appreciation and wellness. This culture has been in existence since the 18th century and practised the same. The wife selection culture was also practised in Uganda in the 18th century from the King Kabaka Mutesa reign till they moved to Presidential leadership with Milton Obote. Swaziland holds two reeds ceremonies in a year.
