Relief to Mike Sonko as the assault case dropped by Coast regional police commander at Voi law court

Relief to the Nairobi governor Mike Sonko as the Coast regional police commander Rashid Yakub has filed an application to drop an assault case against him at the Voi Law Court on Monday.

The Police commander did not disclose the reasons for the case withdrawal. The governor was charged for assaulting the Police.

Senior Resident Magistrate Frederick Nyakundi said he will rule on the matter tomorrow.

Sonko’s lead counsel, Cecil Miller, said his client does not object to the application.
