A social media video that went viral showed the young CS being jeered as he tried to address the audience at the Governor’s Cup in Baringo County, right from the dais.
Chants of “Ruto must go” came from the audience.
According to Murkomen, “Baringo Youth FC from Kabarnet, Baringo Central, protested their loss against Chemogoch FC from Mogotio, which led to the postponement of the men’s finals.”
The Baringo central team was not happy, despite the authorities’ best efforts to settle the dispute.
Since their supporters constituted over half of the stadium and they were the home team, the match could not go on.
The FKF officials, particularly Mr Ruto, were the target of angry outbursts from players and spectators who believed their concerns were unanswered.
As he thought about it, Murkomen emphasised how emotionally charged sports are, especially football, which he thought was a popular and beautiful game that might promote harmony.
He persisted in his efforts to highlight the benefits of sports and stress their capacity to bring people together despite the occurrence.
Even though football is a popular and attractive activity that may promote peace, sports can often evoke strong emotions. After the event, one of his friends made a joke about us sticking to sports,” he recalled.
Following a public altercation with Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, Murkomen has been the subject of media attention lately.
In addition to other matters, the Senator has openly charged the CS of favouring Chinese contractors over local ones to handle temporary work on roads.
Additionally, Murkomen had difficulties during his appearance before the Senate last week, when he was questioned alongside many senators, notably Boni Khalwale of Kakamega, about the development and renovation of Kakamega Airport.
Less than a week has passed since President William Ruto and another Cabinet Secretary, Davis Chirchir (Energy), were heckled in public at a Bomet function. This incident occurred in Baringo.
