After the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal confirmed Jubilee’s management, EALA MP Kanini Kega delivered a letter to former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
A petition for reconsideration against the removal of Uhuru’s associates as party officials was rejected by the tribunal.
Uhuru is welcome to join the party, according to Kega, who spoke on Monday following the tribunal’s ruling.
“We wish to reaffirm that Uhuru, the former party leader, is still an acquaintance and an associate of Jubilee. Our entrances are open when you truly want to return to the celebration,” he remarked.
The claim that the party is for sale was denied by Kega.
“We were repeatedly abused at Azimio; that much is true. We really hope they will not file a motion for reconsideration and accept the court’s decision. We will be prepared if they do,” Kega added.
The tribunal rendered a virtual decision on Monday dismissing the petition for reconsideration in all its aspects and ordering the appellants to pay the respondents’ and interested parties’ court costs.
“We respond in the negative to the second question as posed. We have stated a lot to show that the dismissal of the appeal is the order that we endorse for you. The identical argument lacks merit,” according to the tribunal.
Costs accrue after the incident. The costs of the action should be allocated to the prevailing party to pay its expenses. We do not see a reason to stray from this rule. The expenses of the Respondents and all parties involved in this Appeal will be covered by the Appellants.
The appeal was filed on May 25 by the dismissed party officials, Jeremiah Kioni (secretary general), David Murathe (chairman), and Kagwe Gichohi (national treasurer), asking for instructions to prevent the party leadership transitions from taking place.
The Jubilee National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting’s resolution to drop Murathe, Kioni, and Gichohi from the Party was affirmed by the Registrar of Political Parties.
