South Africa and Morocco are now top African countries producing trains.

South Africa and Morocco have the largest train producing firms in Africa. Only in those countries manufacture trains in Africa.

South Africa has Africa’s largest train manufacturing plant. It is owned by Alstom Gibela’s joint venture.

The plant produces a fleet of 580 six-car X’Trapolis Mega commuter trains for the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) in the next 10 years.
