Benson Muia, better known by his stage name Bensoul, is a multi-award-winning musician who was a member of the Sol Generation. Fans have eagerly awaited the release of his new masterpiece, The Party & The After Party.
On April 20, 2023, Bensoul released his debut solo album, titled “Lion of Sudah,” following his departure from Sol Generation earlier that same year. It is his second album, and he produced it himself.
During an interview, he referred to the album as a musical voyage that is analogous to the experience of going to a number of different parties.
His experience listening to the album from start to finish was like attending several parties and returning to the first.
Over the course of the past year, the 15-track album has been featured on over 300,000 Spotify playlists, with 57% of his audience being males and 40% being females.
In addition, younger folks make up the majority of his primary audience, with approximately 33 percent of his listeners falling between the age range of 23 and 27 years old. Those between the ages of 18 and 22 make up the second-place age group.
Over the course of his career, Bensoul’s music has garnered the attention of listeners from a diverse range of backgrounds. Users from Africa, Europe, and the United States have streamed his music on Spotify in the past 28 days.
Some of the countries included are Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Nigeria, the United States of America, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada, Germany, and Australia.
As an additional point of interest, some of his songs that have topped the charts include Nakufa, Navutishwa, Elevated, Thick Thighs, and Nairobi, all of which feature his fellow singer Mejja.
The songwriter released his debut album, “Lion of Sudah,” on April 20, 2023. The event took place at the Westlands Alchemist.
There were a total of fifteen tracks on the first album, just like there were on the second album. These songs featured collaborations with artists such as Bayanni, Bien, Savara, Fancy Fingers, Wanavokali, and Juma Jux.
In addition to the aforementioned superstars, the album by Bensoul also includes contributions from Muthaka, Lavosti, Hornsphere, AfroNautiq, Xenia Manasseh, Charisma, Mordecai Dex of H_art the Band, and Okello Max.
A significant number of fans and celebrities showed up to show their support for the artist as he presented his 15-track CD to the public.
The song “4:20” was included in Bensoul’s album, which was published on April 20, 2023, with the intention of commemorating the specific date.
Several of his industry acquaintances, including Sauti Sol’s Bien, Sol Generation Manager Nanjero, Public Relations Guru Anyiko Awoko, Nviiri the Storyteller, and Muthoni the Drummer Queen, attended the celebrity-filled event.
