TIFA polls put Millicent Omanga under fire after Raila Odinga's new move

Senator Millicent Omanga was slammed by a part of the internet after making a statement on an internet survey about the upcoming presidential elections in August.

As per a poll published on Tuesday, May 3 by Trends & Insights for Africa (Tifa), Raila Odinga, the Azimio presidential candidate, was the most popular candidate in Nairobi, Makueni, and Mombasa counties.

Senator Omanga reacted to the survey on her official account, claiming that some polls were designed to accomplish a specific narrative.

“Opinion polls tailored to achieve a certain narrative. Ground ndio kusema. DP @WilliamsRuto has the people, and that’s what matters,” she tweeted.

Her message, however, did not go over well with other internet users, who went after her for remarks that implied she did not agree with the poll’s results.

Some internet users puzzled why the senator had not raise an objection when prior surveys indicated Ruto winning the presidential election.

They claimed that when Ruto was leading in the polls, Omanga was celebrating, and now that Raila was winning, she was protesting about the elections being rigged.

Meanwhile, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja is the most popular gubernatorial candidate in the current TIFA poll.
