As soon as the building’s owners fled into hiding following the incident, a person believed to be the landlady arrived on the scene and declared that she would not compensate the affected parties because she had also suffered property damage.
Law enforcement escorted her with confidence, giving the impression that she would not face any penalties.
A rumour is circulating that she is in possession of a British passport and may be leaving Kenya in the upcoming days.
At first, they assured residents that they would be able to retrieve their valuables from the ruins; nevertheless, it seems that they are now more concerned with preserving the metal frames.
She reportedly bought the crane and decided to demolish the building herself instead of letting the local council handle the situation.
The Epsom View Apartments building, which was one of the five-story buildings that fell, is located on Naivasha Road.
There are two people, a youngster and an adult, who are still missing, according to preliminary reports. Redcross reported that it had accounted for all the tenants except for the two individuals.
