Senator Aaron Cheruiyot of Kericho County |
Senator Aaron Cheruiyot of Kericho has criticized several of the governors and leaders of Azimio for their disrespectful behavior toward the national government, which they depend on for funding.
Cheruiyot referred to a demonstration held by Azimio in Kisii, during which the governor of Siaya James Orengo and the Governor for Kisii, Simba Arati, criticized the administration for not fulfilling its mission since it was installed.
Arati was reportedly cited as saying that the government is a “system of criminals” that the people of Kenya need to get rid of.
The governor continued by saying that he would not submit to the government headed by President William Ruto in order to achieve growth targets.
This occurred a few days after Arati had visited DP Rigathi Gachagua and offered their allegiance to the Kenya Kwanza government.
Senator Cheruiyot is making accusations against the leaders, saying that they have double standards, which is something that cannot be tolerated.
Speaking in Nakuru on Saturday, February 18, while accompanying the DP Gachagua, the senator cautioned the aforementioned leaders against pursuing the national continued support in a couple of concerns relevant and important to their subjects, despite the fact that they reverted back to lambasting the very same government after being warned by the senator.
“We have seen that they aim to incite Kenyans, but we won’t let them,” the senator said.
“We want to communicate to some political figures that they need to quit acting like partisan hermaphrodites. It cannot be that on Monday you are in government offices hoping for progress and then on Saturday you are at protests criticizing the same administration for not doing enough.
“I would want to make a request to DP Gachagua. “Please do not let anybody who is participating in the protests into your office.” Cheruiyot advised them to consult with Raila regarding the construction of roads or any other kind of proposed development.
