Federal charges have been filed against Matthew Rupert of Galesburg, who allegedly travelled to Chicago to participate in the looting over the weekend.
He was seen on video saying “let’s start a riot,” according to the feds. He was arrested by CPD.
” This weekend I mainly saw 2 types of videos. Videos where officers are standing around watching people loot, doing nothing, ” a human right activist said.
“And videos of police using extreme force against protesters. It appears they want the looting to happen so their violence toward protesters is “justified, ” the activist added.
