A netizen chastised a woman for harbouring a sick child at the airport, forcing her to wait for another Skyward Express. The woman was 10 minutes late at the airport after her arrival time expired.

There was a complaint about Skyward Express that blogger Cyprian Nyakundi had to highlight.

“A woman here, in tears, is the mother of a 10-day-old baby who is very sick and scheduled to travel on the Skyward Express to Migori.”

“She arrived at 6.15 a.m., and the flight was scheduled for 6.45 a.m. The airline informed her that the check-in time had closed at 6.05 a.m. due to her late arrival.

“She even claims that she took out a debt to book the flight because she couldn’t travel on a bus with the sick child.”

“The staff at Skyward Express tried to manhandle her, but we raised an alarm, and they stopped. Now, she finds herself stranded with the sick child, unsure of what to do.”

“One must adhere to airport procedures; the stipulated show time hours are strict, and if you miss the time frame, it becomes a no-show, and the only way out is for the airline to adjust you to fly on the next flight at an extra fee,” @olaf reacted on X.

“Airport procedures are that you need to be there 1 hour before departure for local flights and 2 hours before departure for international flights. @SkywardExpress  Help her, please; she has a sick kid and perhaps this is this is her first time flying,” @samatarguleid reacted on X.

“No family should endure such distress, especially when they’ve made efforts to travel under challenging circumstances. This incident demands accountability.” @maduke reacts to X.

“Women need to learn to keep time. Also, where is the husband? Juu mwanaume angekuwa hapa; she wouldn’t have missed her flight. Anyway, Skyward, stop mishandling her; next time she will come in early. I wish the kid a quick recovery!” @ovos posted on Twitter.

“Never trust women, especially those with infants and those pregnant. Unless it was an emergency, a 10-day-old child is supposed to be in the hospital. A woman who has just delivered should be nursing her postpartum quietly at home or in the hospital. She should just admit that she was late.”@rommy Reacted on X.

“We can condemn the workers for not being considerate; at least she made it 30 minutes on time. But here is the thing: a ten-day-old and very sick baby has been taken to Mingori from Nrb (10 days old). Come-on has KNH referred her to Mingori. I see irresponsible parents seeking sympathy,” @koitalel21 reacted on X.
