A blogger from Meru has sparked widespread debate with claims that a confidential meeting took place yesterday at the Oakwood Hotel in Nairobi, where three County Executive Committee Members (CECM), the County Secretary, and the Chief of Staff reportedly met with two reputable Senators.
According to credible sources, the gathering aimed to lobby the two legislators, known for their previous support of the governor, to mobilise their colleagues to protect the embattled Kawira Mwangaza in the Senate.
Both senators reportedly expressed frustration over the governor’s unfulfilled promises during her last impeachment battle, sparking a disagreement during the talks.
In a follow-up exchange, one of the senators reportedly lashed out at those questioning his actions in an aggressive response via text message.
However, more questions arise. The person who leaked the information about the senators’ demands for cash should also explain why the Meru MCAs are determined to remove Kawira.
If the stories about the events between Kawira and Raila are accurate, it implies that she was also responsible for the MCAs’ refusal to honour agreements.
