Adani clash with PM Modi over bad deals destroying India’s image

In response to the Adani Group’s planned airport acquisition in Nairobi, Kenya, there have been extensive demonstrations around the country. The Kenya Aviation Workers Union has called for a strike in order to voice its disagreement with the planned acquisition.

Given the global recognition of the relationship between the non-biological Prime Minister and Mr. Adani, India is deeply troubled by this topic, as reported by Reuters. As a result, the demonstrations have the potential to quickly morph into resentment directed at India and its government.

Recently, similar disputes surrounding Adani projects in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have harmed India’s national interest and led to negative results for India. These debates have occurred in recent years.

For example, the contract that the Bangladeshi government had with Adani to buy electricity from their coal plant in Jharkhand became a focal point of the demonstrations that ultimately resulted in the departure of Prime Minister Sheikha Hasina a month ago.

Furthermore, the renewable energy projects that Adani was working on in the Mannar area of Sri Lanka were a source of controversy and were components of the extensive demonstrations that took place against the Sri Lankan government in 2022.

India’s soft power has been one of its major assets in terms of foreign policy throughout its entire history. This is only one of the many sacrifices that India has had to pay at the altar of the non-biological Prime Minister’s unique relationship.

Today, the Prime Minister’s cooperation with the Adani group has led to a decrease in strength and unprecedented reversals for India on the world stage.
