Solomon Atsiaya, Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Police SACCO, issued a harsh “Notice to Show Cause” to SACCO member Philip Daraja.
This is because Daraja is believed to have raised critical concerns about the organisation’s administration and the behaviour of its Board of Directors.
The member, known for voicing opinions in a WhatsApp group for SACCO members, is facing accusations. They accuse the person of engaging in actions deemed “prejudicial to the SACCO’s stability and societal unity.”
The Chief Executive Officer, Atsiaya, has sent a letter dated September 2024, in which he expresses his dissatisfaction with what he regards as a purposeful effort to use the problems of members in order to destroy the SACCO.
The letter warns Daraja that disciplinary action will follow if he does not stop publicly criticizing the board and then drop his allegations of financial mismanagement.
Daraja now faces the risk of expulsion from SACCO and potential legal consequences.
