Where is former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati? Netizens have raised numerous questions about the whereabouts of the former IEBc boss, who declared President William Ruto the winner in the 2022 general elections, despite the presence of deep state candidate Raila Odinga on the ballot.
Attempts to join the court of appeals as judge did not bear any fruit, as his name even failed to appear on the shortlist from JSC. President William Ruto appointed his wife Mary Wanyonyi as the chairperson of the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) in 2023.
An image circulated on Facebook in May 2024 showing Kenya’s former electoral commission chair, Wafula Chebukati, on a hospital bed. A claim about his illness and hospitalization accompanied the image. However, several fact-checks declared it to be false news.
Now new sources indicate that all is not well with Wafula Chebukati. According to blogger Aoko Otieno, the former IEBC is not healthy.
The blogger disclosed, “Chebukati has been dealing with an eye issue for some time and received treatment at Aga Khan.”
“Since Kamagut Thugs were aware that Chebukati might speak at some point,
“His omukhasi was used to change Mzee’s medication and was thus taken to a different hospital, then boom, inexplicable migraines started.
