Journalist Nelson Amenya, who leaked crucial information about the JKIA Adani deal that Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and President William Ruto denied, is now under DCI’s scrutiny.
Despite President William Ruto and PCS Musalia Mudavadi denying it, the Adani deal was sealed under then CS Transport Kipchumba Murkomen, and now Adani has set up a company to kickstart the deal before the end of this year.
Aviation workers will be working under Adani for 30 years and will be given two-year renewable contracts with a clause of firing them or not renewing contracts.
Analysts say that DCI has summoned Afrinet Carbon Limited as part of intimidation tactics. The company is affiliated with Nelson Amenya, the whistleblower on the Adani deal, and is now involved in whistleblowing the Nairobi West Hospital owner Jayesh Saini scam involving public servants’ insurance covers.
Sources claim that Michael K. Sang, the head of the serious crimes unit at DCI Kiambu Road, has received instructions to silence any voices critical of the government or revealing its activities.
The action follows the kidnapping of over 50 people who have been missing since the protests on July 25th, as well as the discovery of others dead in various locations.
Nelson Amenya also hinted at the public with a signal. The President was using Christopher Kirigua, the Director General of Public-Private Partnerships, to push for the lease of JKIA to Adani.
On his X handle, Nelson Amenya wrote, “On Friday 6, 2024, we received this letter from one Michael K. Sang, head of serious crimes unit DCI Kiambu Road, at our company office.”
“I suspect this is after my exposé on the Adani JKIA deal and the facilitators, Jayesh Saini and Aaron Cheruiyot. I’ve heard credible information that they’ve labelled me an enemy of the state and are looking for ways to arrest me. I believe my life may be in danger.
“Even if you misuse our security apparatus instead of targeting the corrupt and state-captured individuals you are sending to intimidate me, I will not allow these outdated tactics to intimidate patriotic citizens fighting for economic freedom and social justice.” #StopAdani #StopAdani”
