Cornelius Kiprono and Morara Kebaso arrested

Following Cornelius Kiprono’s kidnapping this morning, the Lang’ata Police Station also detained and transported Morara Kebaso.

Unknown circumstances led to the arrest of political activist Morara Kebaso once more.

Reports said that Kebaso was being moved to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Kiambu after he was first brought to the Lang’ata Police station in Nairobi.

Kebaso claimed that government officials were following him in late August, even though the reasons for his detention are still unknown.

He has been aggressively touring the nation to draw attention to government initiatives that have stagnated and what he perceives as pervasive corruption.

Kebaso has been vocal in his criticism of President William Ruto, asserting that many of his plans remain unimplemented or have stagnated.

The party claims that on October 7, 2024, in Fedha, Embakasi, someone kidnapped Cornelius Ronoh, the Digital Communications Officer for KANU.

Ronoh’s whereabouts are still unknown, according to an official statement from KANU’s Director of Communications, Manasse Nyainda, raising concerns both within and beyond the party.

Kanu denounced the behavior and demanded his immediate release or an appearance in court if he faced any charges.

“As a party, we have dispatched our lawyers to report and pursue the matter at the nearest police station in Embakasi East,” the statement began.

“We unequivocally call on the authorities to present Mr. Ronoh to any court with competent jurisdiction to stand trial if he is deemed to have committed any offense under the law.”

Since Cornelius Ronoh is essential to KANU’s communications, the party is even more concerned about his absence.
