Detectives discover the body believed to be the missing taxi driver, Victoria Mumbua Muloki.
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives have stumbled upon a human body believed to be that of a missing taxi driver, Victoria Mumbua Muloki.
The female body was discovered at the Nairobi City Mortuary after an intense interrogation session with the suspect, Edwin Ng’etich, who was found with the deceased’s stolen motor vehicle.
The body was discovered in a thicket in Mai Mahiu, next to a road in Lari, Kiambu County, according to investigations.
The police were notified, and it was brought to the City Mortuary, where it was booked as an unknown body on September 29, 2024.
Detectives from the Criminal Intelligence and Research Bureau, who were profiling the suspect, played an important role in the discovery.
While operating Muloki’s motor vehicle in Nakuru, police arrested Ng’etich. He opened up to detectives after intense questioning, and further reports indicate that he led police to the location where he dumped the body.
The notification has reached Muloki’s family in Mombasa. The family says they will be travelling to Nairobi to conduct further identification processes, including DNA profiling, as part of the police plan for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Meanwhile, records have revealed that Ng’etich has committed similar offences in the past.
