One additional person connected to the enmity was taken into custody by the detectives who were investigating the case in which a corpse that had been severely dismembered was discovered abandoned in Langata Cemetery.
On October 31st, detectives found various portions of the woman’s body.
The police reported that they successfully apprehended the culprit and retrieved a significant amount of evidence, including a blood-stained panga suspected of being the murder weapon.
Acting on intelligence leads, the detectives established that the suspect, who was smoked from his hideout in Eldoret town, was the person who not only handled all payment transactions related to the clients’ stay at an apartment in Lavington but was also the person who drove them to the venue in a Toyota Vitz that has since been recovered at Ngara Civil Servants estate and towed to DCI Hqs for forensic examination. The detectives smoked the suspect from his hideout in Eldoret town.
The inquiry also revealed that a businesswoman from Kilimani was managing the room where the primary suspect, Hashim Dagane Muhumed, checked in with the female victim, Deka Abdinoor Gorone, for a short stay.
She had subleased the room from the flat owner for a monthly cost of Sh55,000, and she was solely responsible for the room’s operation.
On the other hand, the owner issued a notice of rent increase beginning in November 2024, which compelled the woman to hire movers to take out her belongings on November 1st, according to the notice.
One day before this, on October 31, surveillance cameras had filmed the primary suspect, Hashim, exiting the room.
For the purpose of shedding further light on the matter at hand, the police called the owner of the residence and performed an investigation interview with him at the homicide offices.
The owner of the flat said that the movers had left some of her possessions at her residence in Kilimani and then left the rest of her stuff at her other company in Gatundu. All of the items were intact in their original packaging.
While unpacking the previously mentioned goods, she guided the investigators to her apartment, where they found a purse she claimed was not one of her belongings.
“We expanded the search to include Gatundu, the location where we had stored the second quantity of goods from the initial scene.”
They collected a blood-smeared panga and another set of exhibits that matched those found at Langata Cemetery.
The suspect’s frantic attempts to clean up any evidence of blood were remarkable, although they did not meet a high level due to the fact that they were similar to the murder scene.
Additionally, the investigators have arrived at the conclusion that the primary suspect was in possession of the victim’s mobile phone or SIM card, which he used to make many calls to members of her family.
A forensic trace of his communication led the police back to Lang’ata Cemetery, where they searched the whole area.
They found a phone hidden in a bag that also included clothing that was similar to those observed by Deka Abdinoor Gorone, who was suspected of being his victim.
“We have treated them to preserve their display quality. Now, the police have disclosed that they would be conducting investigations into further murders that occurred in the past, with Hashim being the primary suspect.
John Onyango, the Deputy Director of Criminal Investigations, disclosed to a group of members of parliament that Hashim is originally from Ethiopia and that he had killed one of his wives before escaping to Kenya.
He claims that the suspect has been involved in four homicides, all of which involved female victims.
