On behalf of the Digital Health Agency (DHA), a government agency entrusted with revolutionising healthcare delivery by integrating digital technology, the Ministry of Health has initiated a competition to create a logo that will be held throughout the whole country.
On Tuesday, the agency published a notice of tender, in which it said that all Kenyan residents were eligible to participate in the competition. The agency also stated that the tenderer might be either an individual or a Kenyan-registered corporation.
According to a portion of the notice, “Digital Health Agency (DHA) invites qualified applicants to compete for the Logo Design Competition for the logo of Digital Health Agency.” The digital health agency is looking for a new logo.
Those who come in first, second, and third place will each earn Ksh100,000, Ksh50,000, and Ksh50,000, respectively. The winner of first place will receive Ksh150,000.
The tournament will begin on November 26 and continue until December 17 throughout its duration.
During this interim period, entrants have the opportunity to submit their ideas to the building that houses the Social Health Authority (SHA) on Upper Hill, Nairobi.
DHA expects you to submit your work by physical mail; DHA will not accept electronic entries.
The contestants are required to submit the logo design in a single envelope, along with six high-resolution colour copies and six black-and-white copies on A4-size paper. In addition to that, you need to send a digital copy of the design on a flash drive.
The tender consists of a single envelope. Some of the notice stated that all proposals should be placed in a single envelope with the tender number and that bidder identities should not be disclosed.
The criterion for awarding will conform to seven rules, each of which is worth five points. These requirements include the use of high-resolution colours, the inclusion of the agency’s name, and a creative slogan.
In addition to that, we will take into consideration creativity, impact, and novelty. There should be a high level of precision in the aesthetics, and the colour choices should be inviting and welcoming.
For the sake of maintaining a professional demeanour, the insignia must have a straightforward sound, which would make it appropriate for use in both printed and digital media. In addition to this, it needs to be distinct and readily identifiable on any DHA material.
In addition, in order to get an extra ten points, contestants are required to provide a written description of their design, which should contain an explanation of its visual identity, logic, taglines, meaning, and any influences.
In the event that a submission does not meet the criteria for obligatory supporting papers, the competition will promptly delete it.
These papers include a copy of a national identification card or a certificate of business registration, a completed business questionnaire, self-declaration forms, and personal information for each participant.
The Department of Health Administration (DHA) has significantly contributed to the transition from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).
Despite experts stating they are experiencing issues with the system, this new competition indicates intentions to make it more accessible and visible in the healthcare sector.
Those who are interested in participating in the tender may access a set of tender papers that include specific instructions by visiting the website of the Ministry of Health, which is located at www.health.go.ke, or by using the Public Procurement Information Portal (PPIP).
