Former Attorney General and Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has accused Deputy President Kithure Kindiki of lacking the gravitas to lead, mockingly describing him as having a “soft voice with no bass” during a public spat over the controversial housing levy funds.
Muturi, who was dismissed by President William Ruto earlier this year, alleged that Kindiki is being favoured by the President to misuse housing levy funds under the guise of empowerment programmes.
The clash, which unfolded during a public event in Nairobi, marks a deepening rift between the two most prominent individuals in Kenya’s political landscape.
Muturi claimed that the housing levy, upheld as constitutional by the High Court in October 2024, is being diverted to projects that benefit Kindiki’s allies rather than addressing the affordable housing crisis as intended.
