Joyce Atieno Odhiambo, 24, is in custody for the suspected murder of her 29-year-old partner Lucas Onyango Odera at their South Gate village home in Butula Sub-County within Busia County.
It is believed that Joyce Atieno Odhiambo, the suspect, injured Lucas Onyango Odera by stabbing him seven times with a pair of scissors during a dispute that occurred inside the household.
According to a police record, the victim, who was receiving treatment for his injuries, ultimately passed away as a result of them.
According to the report, “Police officers led by the Bumala OCS and the Butula SCCIO visited the scene and established that the victim, Lucas Onyango Odera, who had passed away, was a Luo male adult aged 29 years old.

Residents in the neighborhood took the man to Sega Mission Hospital, but he did not survive his injuries and passed away while he was receiving treatment.
The police officers who searched the site during the investigation preserved the pair of scissors, the clothing of the deceased, and the clothes of the suspect as evidence.
Simultaneously with the transfer of the corpse to Sega Mission Hospital’s mortuary for a post-mortem examination, the Butula police station took custody of the suspect as more investigation was underway.
